A Regional Hawker Showcase

The first-ever regional hawker showcase at Raffles Courtyard, spotlighting Southeast Asian culinary heroes. Discover the vibrant flavours of Southeast Asia, celebrating beloved regional specialties and the fascinating tales of the culinary heroes. This edition will showcase a plethora of unique creations that are rarely found in Singapore, inviting the community to discover these cherished local specialties and savour the finest of Southeast Asian Street food hawker culture.

From 4 to 10 September 2024, the instalment spotlights Mr. Raaghavendra Arivalagan, who is representing his father, Mr. Arivalagan Ponnusamy, a Putu Mayong master in Penang, Malaysia. ​For over 40 years, Mr. Arivalagan Ponnusamy began cultivating the craftmanship of Putu Mayong, a local delicacy that resembles vermicelli-like rice flour noodles. ​

Delight in his rendition of Putu Mayong, presented in a trio of variations, original, pandan and brown rice, and served with grated coconut and brown sugar, alongside two savoury curries including a creamy vegetable curry and a delectable fish curry.

Exclusively from 15 July to 15 September 2024, indulge in seven uniquely crafted Summer tipples featuring the natural and refreshing vermouth of El Bandarra from Barcelona.
