A Regional Hawker Showcase
The first-ever regional hawker showcase at Raffles Courtyard, spotlighting Southeast Asian culinary heroes. Discover the vibrant flavours of Southeast Asia, celebrating beloved regional specialties and the fascinating tales of the culinary heroes. This edition will showcase a plethora of unique creations that are rarely found in Singapore, inviting the community to discover these cherished local specialties and savour the finest of Southeast Asian Street food hawker culture.
Exclusively from 7 to 13 August 2024, meet our second hawker, Madam Ho Thi Tha from Hue, Vietnam. She started her humble business of selling Banh Khoai in Chuon Market, an all-women’s market known for its commitment to aiding displaced and underprivileged women in the locality.
Due to Covid, her stall was shuttered three years ago. Undeterred by the challenges, she set up a stall on the porch of her home to continue peddling her famed Banh Khoai.
